This is the home page of 'Skipton Flytyers'.
If you are not already a member, please feel free to browse.
We are a friendly group of currently about 20 members. We meet on the 3rd Monday evening of every month. Some of our meetings, mainly during winter, are demonstrations by nationally (and sometimes internationally) recognised fly dressers. Other meetings named 'Fur & Feather' consist of joint practice sessions.
This is undoubtedly the most effective way to learn fly-tying methods and the great variety of named patterns which exist. If you want to see what we have to offer, visitors are welcome.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO MEMBERS
Our next (September) meeting will be the AGM.
All members are urged to attend this very important meeting.
Please note that we will be looking for a new Treasurer to take over from Michael Dunn, to whom our thanks are due for the work he has done in this role over a considerable number of years.
Note also that at this meeting we will auction the set of 30 flies donated by Stuart Bowdin, which represent the Swarbrick 'List of Wharfedale Flies'

At our August meeting Steve Bielby of Wharfedale Angling Classics led the Tying Together session, the topic being 'dubbing'.
He demonstrated the virtues of some of the synthetic and natural materials.
